[Music Monday] Day6

Day6 has captured my heart with all of their releases and I can’t seem to stop replaying their new heartfelt breakup song “You Were Beautiful” because it is absolutely beautiful. The mesmerizing lyrics combined with the reel of romantic moments between the couple (although the first half with the main actress alone wasn’t as impressive). Nevertheless, their songs never fail to hit me right in the feels ever since “Congratulations.” Planning to release 2 songs every month this year, Day6 is most definitely a band to look out for because they are amazing! Make sure you read the lyrics too because I can’t even explain how great they are not to mention their heavenly vocals from each member (except Dowoon lol).

[Music Monday]Block B – Walking in the Rain

Every time Block B comes out with a new album I get super excited! Not only do they have some of the most entertaining music videos, I love Zico’s musical genius and lately, it seems he has been in love with all his recent releases…

With their recent releases of Toy and A Few Years Later, they most definitely took a more tamed approach with this album (just don’t listen to Bingeul Bingeul). I was digging Toy but not as much as some of their other songs. There are few groups/artists that I would listen to their entire album to scope out a good song and Block B is one of them. So, I listened to the entire Blooming Period album to find this gem, Walking in the Rain. Hands down, it is my favorite song off this album and deserves a listen. I find the lyrics pretty darn adorable too!

Also, Taeil’s voice is always heavenly.

[Music Mondays] 1TYM

I just realized how long it’s been since I posted on this blog, so I deeply apologize for my lack of activity. But it’s sad to say that the K-pop phase in my life is slowly fading and I am not the squealing fan girl I used to be. Yet, that hasn’t stopped me from listening to an overwhelming amount of Korean music, so let’s not be sad. I still have an array of music ready to be shared with the world! Let’s talk about 1TYM and about how they are pretty awesome and I saw Danny Im once and I don’t think I realized it was him. DANNY IM <3.

[Music Monday] Music is My Life

I recently started watching the K-drama Persevere Goo Hae Ra and it centers around a girl trying to achieve her dream of completing a song her father left for her before her death. During the Superstar K2 audition, there were numerous acts and it slowly built up into a great performance and rendition of the song Music is My Life. I’m not going to lie, one of the reasons I started this drama was for Henry Lau, and he starts it off with beatboxing. Then, I absolutely fell in love with Ulala Session’s Park Kwang Sun’s voice and Yoo Sung Eun. Ahh~<3. Let’s just mention other names like Jin Young and Huh Gak. ^.^

[Music Monday] UNDERWATER SQUAD

Hi, I was supposed to post this yesterday while at home sick, but I never really got around to it whoo. Well, I just discovered this song about two days ago and all I could say is what an interesting mixture of cultures and an eclectic array of vocabulary. Some of these lyrical geniuses really blew me away. ORCA NINJAS GO RAMBO

[Music Monday] Happy Thoughts

Today was a pretty rough day for reasons I know not. I was just an emotional mess and everytime I’m an emotional mess, it usually means I spent a good amount of time crying. The thing is, I was so confused and lost that I don’t even think I can pinpoint specific points that contributed to my tears. And things that I usually say wouldn’t matter, mattered a whole lot. Well, a bittersweet feeling that I actually hate is nostalgia. However, this song is a song that when I was younger, (like 6 years ago), was a good song to cheer me up. At the time I was also in my obsessed BIGBANG phase and I actually really miss those times. Ah.. nostalgia. This isn’t even that old.

[Music Monday] Y’all Are Born Haters

Haha just kidding. My only hater is my sister. Anyway I’ve been extremely obsessed with this song for some reason. I always wondered how it was possible to like Korean rap when rap is so reliant on the power of the lyrics that I cannot understand. Ehhhh but I still like it. This was a really nice mush of a lot of the new YG artists plus Beenzino and Verbal Jint ^.^. I also loved how they filmed it with each one in their own little room. Yes it’s still Monday… for me.

[Music Monday] KILL EM

I actually haven’t really posted anything in awhile and I actually haven’t noticed my lack o posts until now. It’s been over a month since the last one on this blog, but my personal blog had been updated. I think my school work has really been taking a toll on me, and I have really been losing that passion for K-pop I previously had. But nevertheless, there is still a whole bunch of songs! This song came up today when my friend was speaking about Ailee and her appearance on Running Man. So this song will be one that Ailee is featured in! Yay! I was telling her about this awesome song with, oh did I mention, Jay Park, J.Reyez, DFD, and many more! Anyway, a lot of y’all have probably heard this song and a lot of y’all probably haven’t. Without out much further adieu, here it is!

Yay Rap!

Bonus song because I’ve been gone for so long!

[Music Monday] Vodka Rain

Today is actually Tuesday but I’ve been late before so it’s alright! I contemplated making this into a “Current Obsessions” but a Music Tuesday will do. So I came  across a nice K-indie band called Vodka Rain and for some reason I’ve been really into their song “보고싶어.” I don’t even know what it means in English. According to Google, it means something along the lines of  “I want to see you” or “I miss you.” Nevertheless, I really love the whole mood and sound of the song. Really happy I came across a great band.

[Music Monday] It’s the Phantom

Oh hello, it’s rather late for a Music Monday but I fell asleep for 6 hours T^T. But there’s 20 minutes left until midnight so I will talk about a song!

Phantom is a group that I was fond of since pre-debut and they for sure have impressed many people since then. However, they still don’t get enough recognition they deserve! Phantom are very talented singers, rappers, and producers. All three of them rap and two of them are vocals. They have a wide range of style of songs going from slower ballad-like songs to club bangers in a single album. Sanchez’s voice is incredibly unique and you could always tell which is his. Although not you’re typical K-pop group, they can be considered by far more talented than many K-pop groups more popular than them. What I find with many of their songs is the fact that I can understand what the song is about without having to look up the lyrics because of the way they present themselves in the music video and style. “Seoul Lonely” really hits the point of being alone so much for me through the music video and song that I myself can’t help but feel lonely too. Check out Phantom guys!
